will get together to discuss another classic or
contemporary short story
Meets at the Westport Book Shop on

The next session of the Short Story Book Club will be Thursday, March 27, 2025. We will be discussing these two short stories:
"Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" by (1966) Joyce Carol Oates, and
"A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor (1955).
Space is limited; registration is required, by phoning the Book Shop at 203-349-5141 or by sending an email to: RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org

A benefit event
to help sustain our employment program and grow our community
Since opening the Westport Book Shop in early 2021, we have provided over 10,250 hours of paid part-time employment and job training for more than a dozen adults and young adults with disabilities. Our employees are learning and exercising workplace skills that are transferable to other business and retail environments, and they have the opportunity for frequent everyday interaction with the community. Over this time, we have also provided more than $200,000 of support to The Westport Library.
On March 13, 2025, we hosted a benefit we called Growing Our Community, to raise funds to ensure we continue to have a solid financial foundation, and to support the potential growth or our employment program. Guests enjoyed live music performed by members of the Staples High School Jazz Ensemble, light bites & beverages, a paddle raise, and both a live and silent auction of a variety of unique books, vinyl, artworks, and experiences.
If you missed the benefit, you can still support our efforts: click here to donate. Thank you
