April 6, 2025 – The Westport Book Shop welcomes local artist Linn Cassetta as guest exhibitor for the month of April at the Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place. Linn is exhibiting several egg-themed artworks, including four encaustic prints and one multi-media composition on canvas.
Eggs have captured Linn Cassetta’s imagination since early childhood. “The symbolism of the egg is staggering. It represents the mystery of life in one exquisite and simple package. It bestows peace upon the beholder. It is simultaneously both strong and fragile,” said Linn.
Linn Cassetta began her professional career in apparel and footwear design, manufacturing and marketing. After settling in Westport, she transitioned to interior design, fine decorative painting and trompe l’oeil. Linn earned a BFA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, and was the first American to earn an MA degree from the Royal College of Art in London. Linn is a member of the Artists Collective of Westport.
The Westport Book Shop will hold a reception for Linn and her exhibit on Wednesday evening, April 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited; please RSVP to the Book Shop by phoning 203-349-5141 or sending an email to RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org
Linn Cassetta’s artwork will be on exhibit at the Westport Book Shop through April 30, 2025. The exhibit is open to the public during the Book Shop's regular business hours: Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m. All work on display is available for purchase.
